Hi, I’m Charlotte and I founded CJ Communications in 2014, after 14 years working in agencies and the arrival of my second daughter. With over 20 years’ experience in food, drink and hospitality communications & marketing, I’m a self-confessed foodie and am lucky enough to live in Kent, surrounded by beautiful countryside and fantastic local producers.
In my agency life, I spent 10 years working for William Murray Communications, an award-winning B2B integrated agency that specialises in food and hospitality. As Account Director, I was responsible for strategy development across my accounts and making sure our campaigns delivered winning results. Clients included: UCC Coffee, Lyons coffee, Unilever, Brita, Steelite International, P&G, Greene King and Elior UK.
Before that, I was at Nexus Communications in London - another award-winning agency specialising in food, drink, nutrition and healthcare. Here, I helped found a charity initiative for yogurt brand Muller, worked with the health professional community and helped put British Lion eggs on the menu for consumers and caterers.
At CJ Communications, projects have included; raising the profile of a company in the trade media as part of a multi-million acquisition strategy; writing a business guide for coffee shop owners; writing many winning entries for hospitality industry awards including The Cateys, FSM awards, Acorns, Craft Guild of Chef awards as well as national awards, such as the National Business awards and DRUM marketing awards; interviewing Michelin-starred chefs as part of a multi-media brand campaign and editing recipe books.
